Plateau state governor, Jonah Jang, has denied reports that he has appointed his son, Yakubu Jang as Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Town Planning in the state. In a statement released by Hon. Commissioner Abubakar Mumhammad Badu, the governor says his son is only to oversee the ministry until a new Commisioner is appointed to replace Architect Yilji Gomwalk who is running for governorship in the state. See statement after cut… “The Attention of the Plateau State Government has been drawn to some publications indicating that Governor Jonah Jang has appointed his son, Mr. Yakubu Jang as Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Town Planning. Contrary to this mischievous publications, Mr. Yakubu Jang, who is still a serving Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, is only to oversee the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Town Planning, pending the appointment of a substantive Commissioner for the Ministry. This is as a result of the nomination of Architect Yilji Gomwalk as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer, Senator GNS Pwajok’s running mate for the 2015 Governorship election. Members of the public are therefore advised to ignore the false, ill-motivated and misleading publications, please.
