The Federal Government has declared Thursday 25th and Friday 26th of December, 2014 as Public Holidays to mark Christmas and Boxing Day Celebrations. This was contained in a statement today by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Eng. Abubakar Magaji. Similarly, Thursday 1st January, 2015 has been declared a public holiday to mark the New Year, the statement added. It further stated that the Minister of Interior, Comrade Patrick Abba Moro, used the medium to urge all Christian faithful and Nigerians in general to extend the spiritual benefits of Christmas to their daily living and contribute to the development of the nation. “Comrade Abba Moro further urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace and unity across the country,” the statement said. The minister, the statement added, wished all Nigerians a happy Christmas and prosperous New Year celebrations.
