The tireless Chilean scored twice and set up Laurent Koscielny for another as Arsene Wenger’s men convincingly bounced back from defeat to Southampton
An inspired Alexis Sanchez took his goal tally for the season to 18 as Arsenal comfortably defeated Stoke City to move within touching distance of the Premier League’s top four.
Laurent Koscielny headed the Gunners in front on six minutes when he rose unmarked to meet an Alexis cross, and the Chilean then beat Asmir Begovic at his near post to double the hosts’ lead on 33 minutes.
Stoke never looked likely to mount a comeback and Alexis claimed his second of the match when a low free-kick found its way over the line with help from the post and a hapless Begovic.
